Travelers

chairs1

For so many years,

covering the familiar grounds of old love,

the surprise was to find so much still uncharted.

New sides to well worn souls.

Unique views from the depths of having gone ’round and ’round.

Digging in until spirits would be able to meet at a level missed by too lofty a position.

Fresh perspectives, having been washed clear by tears of joy, and hurt, and relentless trying.

He was a wanderer.

A winding road of a man whose bends and turns and tendencies, were to run with the wind.

And she was his breeze.

And they’d traveled so far together only to find each other newย under every shadow.

New, within every nightfall’s promise of day.

Journeying the distance of a lifetime,

side by side.

  1. A winding road of a man.whose bends and turns and tendencies, were to run with the wind, and she was his breeze. Absolutely beautiful. So rich. So full. Love it.

  2. This is a beautiful piece. My favorite line is “Digging in until spirits would be able to meet at a level missed by too lofty a position.” Such a thoughtful sentiment.
