The motive was love

Virginia 137

The words came out wrong, but the motive was love.

If only that could have been made clear for her.

That underneath all of his clumsiness were gifts that he wanted to give to her.

Gifts buried deep.

Trapped and tangled in layers of chances he didn’t know how to take.

Lost inside a man with no talent for words, but tremendous in heart.

And he’d give these gifts if he could navigate through his own awkward makeup.

He give them just as soon as he found a way over his own rough terrain.

Never given a lesson on how to find the treasure within himself.

He was now rummaging around in his own darkness on her behalf.
