A Journey

afternoon 026

Her mind wandered far away from home.

She had never considered herself a runaway.

Never rebellious in nature.

But she caught a whiff of a newness that smelled so sweet, she had to follow it.

A fragrance that colored the air like a path.

Like a guide.

A glittering trail of direction, taking her past pictures and feelings she hadn’t known.

Opening her up to senses she hadn’t learned about as a child.

And her vision widened.

And her eyes became clear as she looked upon what could only be called “truth”, for the first time.

Knowing deep inside that she’d never see home in the same way again.

That in fact, there was no going back.

Not now.
