4-27-12 007There was a woman walking towards me as I finished one of my runs. Β She held up her hand to high five me and said “good job baby!”

I love that this stranger didn’t just walk by.

I love that in calling me “baby” I felt like an instant, close friend with this woman.

I think of that often and smile.

  1. I opened the blog thinking I would read a little something to connect with you (virtually).
From time to time I love popping over to spend a little time experiencing your very pure perspective. What a treat to see new entries, beautiful pictures and fresh insightful words. I miss you guys. I missed your nuggets of truth.
    Welcome back!!

  2. The simple things in life bring me the most pleasure. The unknown and unnoticed people in life often bring me the most blessings. Thank you for the simple “like” earlier today in Shadows. I love the “simple” but profound acknowledgements.

  3. Thank you for coming by Always On The Run. You made me smile, way to go baby πŸ™‚

  4. Hi, Devan.
    Thanks for Liking “Bliss”.
I really like your snapshot in time and the way in which you present it through the simple act of a high five and a few words of affirmation from a perfect stranger which the poet treasures forever.
Thanks for sharing this side of the human condition which gives us all renewed hope in the love of mankind and the goodness that is out there.

  5. I love when these things happen, when people ignore the script πŸ˜‰ This made me smile! πŸ™‚

  6. Great post, but I couldn’t help but think that it was a good thing it was a woman and not a man who did that! πŸ™‚
